This week on Anime Pulse we got revenge porn, trading cards, and spiders. Up first IRL news brings in Joseph showing off his new trading cards, and then Andrew asks the community what shows they’ll be partaking in this winter season. Then in industry news Joseph sits it out as Andrew talks about the delayed Evangelion movie, and some anime Crunchyroll awards. Lastly we jump into the new season as Joseph goes on a revenge quest as he moves to a starter town, and Andrew becomes a spider to investigate rotting animal corpses.

  1. I try to be like my fellow kids and attempt to post comments through my phone, and that’s when the problems start. Woe is me.

  2. So let me get this straight: When the Kighley Awards happen, and gamers don’t get a say in what game wins, that sucks. (Oh boy, The Last of Us 2 would have been stricken from the record if the “fans” had their say, but I digress)

Then, if the fans do have theirs say, then we have a Groundhog’s Day conversation about only the most popular shows winning. Hey, when do we start voting for the No Shit Awards? Either we get awards where the voters snob it up, or we get a viewer’s choice award where it’s basically shounen shows taking home the goal. Hey, I have a solution! Why don’t we stop having awards shows. What’s the point? If an organization wants to celebrate great work in games, anime, etc, just send them a trophy in the mail. I’m nearly 4 decades into this BS. It’s 1 less argument I’d have to see on the internet.

  3. Regarding Kemono Jihen: yeah, I’m sure “her” powers are ice based. Hey, can’t blame you for the mistake. It’s by design.

  4. Now, regarding Starter Town (fuck you if you think I’m going to type out that whole title) I want to know, Joey, why it would potentially get points taken off for having a woman play the protagonist. You sounded over the moon about this show, even daring to compare it to Tenchi. If it has such great potential, then the female lead mustn’t be bad at all. Look, we’re in 2021, the future, the year that a lot of our scifi has been set. Maybe we move forward, eh? Let bygones be bygones?

  5. So I’m a Spider, So What? is definitely studio Milepense’s greatest work. A had a good laugh from Teekyu, which was their only purposefully awful looking production, Copcraft went to shit in spectacular fashion, and i…watched all of Berserk 2016 (RIP). They haven’t learned all of their lessons from 2016 (I’m now on the “This CG is jank” train) but it’s worth watching!
